In July 2019, the Wells Fargo branch inside the United Supermarket at 2630 Parkway Drive in East Lubbock. Now, KAMC News reports that the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) will be taking its place.

The USDA’s WIC Program provides federal grants for low-income families with children who are deemed to be at nutritional risk.

Families who qualify for the program can take advantage of discounted supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education.

The new WIC location is set to open in September inside the United grocery store and will take the place of the mobile WIC station which is currently found  in the parking lot every Tuesday and Thursday.
