TxDPS Seize Cash in Traffic Stop in Carson County

On Sunday (Feb. 25), Texas DPS troopers seized a large amount of cash during a traffic stop.

The traffic stop occurred Sunday afternoon on westbound I-40 in Carson County. Over $53,000 in cash was found in a shoebox inside a 2009 BMW 328i sedan.

The driver, 43-year-old Juan Flores, of California, and passenger, 33-year-old Angelica Manriquez, of California, were arrested and charged with money laundering.

The cash was allegedly begin transported from Oklahoma City, to California.
