TxDOT to Hold Lubbock Outer Route Study Meeting February 25th

A study meeting for a possible new roadway in Lubbock will take place later this month.

TxDOT has rescheduled the Lubbock Outer Route Study meeting for Tuesday, February 25^th.

The study meeting will be held at the Lubbock Cooper Performing Arts Center at 16302 Loop 493 at 6:30 p.m.

The Lubbock Outer Route Study is in the second phase of development. The first phase was a feasibility study, initiated to determine the feasibility of an outer route around Lubbock from Highway 84 northwest of Lubbock to Highway 84 southeast of Lubbock.

That phase concluded in 2010, with TxDOT determining that a four-lane divided highway was feasible in the area by 2030.

Phase two is to identify a specific route for the proposed highway.
