More traffic changes will be enacted next week as part of the Marsha Sharp Freeway Project.

TxDOT will make the traffic change to Milwaukee Avenue in the MSF Phase 5A construction area.

Beginning on Wednesday, April 16th, crews will reduce north and southbound Milwaukee Avenue to two lanes of traffic in each direction from the freeway to Spur 327. The northbound Milwaukee dedicated right-turn lane onto the freeway will also be closed during this phase of the project.

Crews will be widening Milwaukee, which will allow them to extend the northbound dedicated right-turn lane to help improve traffic flow.

During the work, temporary traffic signals will be activated and the existing signals will be removed to make room for the new MSF/Milwaukee intersection.

Traffic is expected to remain in this configuration for the next four weeks. Motorists traveling on Milwaukee in the area are advised to seek alternate routes.

The $22.4 million project is expected to be completed in mid-2015. Work is being completed by Haydon Building Corp. of Phoenix, Arizona.
