Abilene police say two women have been arrested for working out a payment plan for the purchase of a 7-week-old infant. The Associated Press reports that 29-year-old Joana Delacruz Huerta allegedly allowed 27-year-old Marilu Munoz to purchase the child for $2,000 to be paid in installments.

They were arrested and charged Thursday. The selling or purchase of an infant is a third degree felony, and the two could face up to ten years in prison and $10,000 in fines. The child, who’s sex has not been released, was taken into custody by Child Protective Services. The two women remain in the Taylor County Jail with unset bonds.
