Two Suspects Arrested, One at Large in Lubbock Weekend Shooting
The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office is searching for one remaining suspect involved in a weekend shooting with two other suspects in custody.
Raymond "Caleb" Hockenberry was shot in the neck at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, November 16, in the 7000 block of County Road 6500. Hockenberry is in critical condition at a Lubbock area hospital.
John Covarrubio, 19, was arrested late Sunday morning on two charges of aggravated assault and is being held in the Lubbock County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
Sheriff’s deputies then arrested 20-year-old Vincent “Bubba” Mendez Monday evening before 7:30 p.m. Lieutenant Bryan Taylor with the Sheriff's Office said Mendez was believed to be responsible for the shooting but was not cooperating as of Monday evening.
The at-large suspect is 22-year-old Matthew Janssen, who goes by the nickname of "Matt Matt". Janssen is a white male standing 5’11” tall and weighing 150 lbs. He has black hair, brown eyes and a medium build.
