I'm a big fan of Discovery Channel's "Mythbusters." If you've never seen the show, it's this team that conducts crazy experiments in order to debunk popular myths and urban legends, such as whether or not you can really slip on a banana peel or if the "5-second rule" really works. Today's question: how much havoc can you cause with a cannonball?

OK, that's not really the question they were trying to answer, but a cannonball shot by the Mythbusters team did cause a commotion in Dublin, California when it missed its intended target and went through a house instead. The cannonball was supposed to hit a large container of water on the show's firing range. Instead, the cannonball missed, went through a cinder block wall, took a few "unfortunate bounces" off a hill and ultimately went through a house and into a minivan.

The show has been firing off projectiles and other explosives on this particular range for nearly eight years without a single incident. And thankfully, no one was injured in this accident. But I wonder if this "misfire" will make it into the actual show...
