You can keep reading for the full list of responses, but first, I want to show you the average response from America. Then, you can compare these answers with the local audience and even with your own.
👏 Let's begin!
Top Vacation Spots for Americans
According to loveexploring.com, traveling abroad is incredibly popular in the U.S. In fact, in 2023, 46% of Americans had a passport. That's a 16% increase from 2008.
You can thank the Beach Boys for the fact that Aruba is on the list. This small Caribbean island was visited by a whopping 946,747 U.S. tourists last year alone.
You may be shocked to know that Delhi, India is also on the list. From rich history to a wide array of local street food, this destination is guaranteed to not be boring.
Greece, specifically Athens, is one that I am SO JEALOUS of. I absolutely love Greek history and ancient Greek culture. This is most definitely one on my bucket list. I'm not alone, as last year, 1.4 million U.S. tourists visited the country.
The Bahamas is an obvious one, but did you know that Vietnam was also on the list? Rome, Tokyo, and Paris are also no-brainers for me when it comes to dream vacation spots.
The number one spot on their list, however, was London, England. This DEFINITELY surprised me, but, having been fortunate enough to visit the country myself, I can understand.
Alright, so you've seen what the rest of America had to say when it comes to dream travel destinations. Let's take a look in our own neighborhoods and see what Lubbock citizens had to say for their perfect vaycay.
