
Tiger Woods Knocked Out as Top Earning Athlete by Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Forbes List
Boxing has knocked golf out of the top spots on Forbes’ list of the 100 highest-paid athletes.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. bumped Tiger Woods out of the top spot on the list, a position which Woods has held since 2001. According to Forbes, the Mayweather claimed $85 million for this year’s earnings.
Second on the list is boxer Manny Pacquiao, with earnings of $62 million dollars.
Tiger Woods landed at third on the list with earnings of $59.4 million, a drop of $16 million from last year. Forbes lists his winnings at $4.4 million, and endorsements of $55 million. His winnings have gone up about $2 million since last year, but Woods has lost some high-profile endorsements.
LeBron James is the highest paid basketball player, netting $53 million, which earns him fourth place. Tennis player Roger Federer comes in fifth at $52.7 million.
