Tuesday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin, the new principal of Coronado High School Julia Stephens and the Executive Director of Communications and Community Relations Jeff Klotzman joined Dave and Matt to discuss several issues involving Coronado High School.

Stephen and Klotzman discussed several topics including when Julia is set to start as the new principal, what she hopes to accomplish, changes in student behavior as technology changes, how she hopes to encourage students, minimizing cell phone use, school safety, and more.

Julia is currently the assistant principal at Irons Middle School, but is looking forward to working at Coronado High School. She had this to say,

"Coronado has just got amazing things going on. The faculty and staff, students. I had an opportunity to be on campus yesterday for the better part of the morning and meet and greet, and get out in the hallways, and get a feel for what's going on there. So just lots of really good, positive things going on there at Coronado."

Her official starting date is July 1st, but she will be in office as of Tuesday, May 28th.

When asked what she hopes to accomplish and if she plans to implement any changes when she starts, Julia said that she thinks the key is to listen rather than speak. She wants to learn what the teachers, students, parents, and community need from her as a campus leader. She went on later to say that she doesn't know what she does not know. She explained that everyday brings its own problems and she hopes to be able to prioritize, problem solve, and utilize her team.
