Wednesday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin the President of the National Cowboy Symposium Paul Stonum joined Dave and Matt to talk about the 30th anniversary of the Cowboy Symposium.

The Cowboy Symposium is coming up this weekend with several events to celebrate cowboys and West Texas.

"We've got a full slate of programming going on from music, to reenactment groups, poetry, chuck wagon cooking. We've got a little bit of everything this weekend."

The event will have chuck wagon cooking right by the Mahon Public Library, horse training, and a display of antique firearms. The event will also have guests such as Casey Fitzgerald, an author who talks about western fiction, and a former Texas Tech Museum curator who will talk about buffalo hunting. Stonum said that this is really an event that celebrates our area. A celebration of where cowboys are from.

The Cowboy Symposium will take place the 7th, 8th, and 9th at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. Doors open at 9am every day and exhibitors will have booths open until 7pm. People ages 30 and under get in for free and tickets can be purchased at www.cowboy.org.
