On Thursday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Dr. Christopher Smith from the Texas Tech Vernacular Music Center talked with Tom Collins and Laura Mac about an upcoming musical event.

Dancing at the Crossroads is a world premiere show produced in association with Lubbock Moonlight Musicals. The show celebrates the history of African-American and Anglo-Celtic dance in America and how if formed the roots of today's popular music. Smith said the show is the first of its kind and will feature primarily local talent. Prior to the show, a dinner featuring Cajun and Creole dishes will be served.

Performances of Dancing at the Crossroads will take place February 1st and 2nd and February 8th and 9th at the Icehouse Theater at the Louise Hopkins-Underwood Center for the Arts. Dinner will be served at 6:30 and the show beings at 7:30.
