Texas Tech football is in the Halloween spirit, producing two creepy hype videos ahead of their blackout game against Oklahoma University on Saturday night (Nov. 3rd).

The first is a Nightmare on Elm Street-inspired clip, featuring the haunting nursery rhyme-inspired, "Freddy's Theme Song."

Seven, eight, gonna stay up late/Nine, ten, never sleep again.

And then there's this one, with a quote from one of the scariest movies ever made: The Shining. Hey, Lincoln Riley: "Come and play with us...forever, and ever, and ever."

But the Halloween festivities for the Texas Tech-Oklahoma game don't end there.

Not only is the game against Oklahoma a blackout. Not only is it Texas Tech's first, and possibly only, night game of the 2018 season. And not only will fans get free wings at the game. Texas Tech has added another layer of fear to a game that's already one of the biggest of the year by encouraging fans to wear their Halloween costumes to The Jones.

Well, 'encouraging' isn't the right word. Let's just say the school isn't discouraging fans from dressing up.

The only thing missing from the game is a horror movie-style villain for fans to be scared of and cheer when he's eventually defeated by Texas Tech's version of plucky teenage camp counselors -- The 806D. But Baker Mayfield is in the NFL now. There's no singular player for Texas Tech fans to "root against" on the team.

That won't stop The Jones from being the scariest -- and loudest -- place that the Sooners will play this season.

Be sure to listen on air (1340 AM) or with the free 1340 The Fan app to join Rob Breaux, Karson Robinson, and Robert Wright as they will host SportsRadio 1340 The Fan's Countdown to Kickoff before the Oklahoma game, airing from 4 - 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 3rd.
