A Texas Tech women’s golfer has received a sizable conference accolade.

Kim Kaufman has been named as the Big 12 Golfer of the Month, following her second-place performance at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic.

This monthly award is the first for Kaufman, and the first for a Lady Raider since Gabby Dominguez earned the honor in February and March of 2011.

“Kim has been such a consistent player for us throughout her career and we couldn’t be prouder of what she has accomplished already this season,” said Lady Raider Head Coach JoJo Robertson.

The Ptarmigan Ram Classic was one of the more dominating performances in Tech’s history, as Tech took the tournament title by 27 strokes, the second-largest margin of victory in school history.

Kaufman is currently ranked as No. 4 nationally in the Golfweek poll, along with Lady Raiders Gabby Dominguez, currently ranked 10th, and Beverly Mendoza, ranked 40th.

Texas Tech will play next at the Suzie Maxwell Berning Classic in Norman, Oklahoma on October 15th through the 17th.
