Two Texas Tech golfers have advanced to match play in a championship.

Red Raider golfers Gabby Dominguez and Kim Kaufman finished up the second round of the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship in a tie for 20th Tuesday.

Their showing in the second round allows them to advance to the match play portion of the tournament.

The two juniors finished among the top 64 in the 156-player field to move on to match play, which began Wednesday morning, and runs until Saturday at the Neshanic Valley Golf Course in Neshanic Station, N.J.

Kaufman, a Clark, South Dakota product, was 1-under through the opening nine holes, and finished with an even-par 72 round for the second straight day. She faces Alice Chen, a Princeton, New Jersey native, who finished tied for 37th.

Dominguez, a Chilton, Texas native, recorded four total birdies and a bogey over the back nine. She has teed off against T.J. Kleibphipat, who tied for 43rd.
