
Texas Tech Football Catapults Into The Top 10
Texas Tech had another big weekend and a big win against Big 12 opponent Houston this past Saturday. Texas Tech defeated Houston 35-11. Texas Tech is undefeated on the young season and will have its Homecoming game coming up on Saturday.
Texas Tech a Top 10 Team Nationally
The Red Raiders have cracked the Associated Press Top 10 for the first time since 2013. Texas Tech Football now ranks #9 in the nation. According to a press release from Texas Tech, the new national ranking hasn't been this high since Kliff Kingsbury was the Head Coach, in his first year at Texas Tech.
This is the highest the Red Raiders have ranked in either poll since Oct. 20, 2013, when Texas Tech rolled off its seventh-consecutive victory to start its season under first-year head coach Kliff Kingsbury. The Red Raiders were ranked No. 9 that week in the coaches’ poll and then No. 10 by the AP. It is the highest ranking in the AP poll for the Red Raiders since Dec. 7, 2008, when Texas Tech went into an eventual appearance in the Cotton Bowl at No. 8 nationally.

Texas Tech Faces Kansas Next
Texas Tech looks to continue rolling this Saturday when they return to Lubbock to host the Kansas Jayhawks on Homecoming weekend. While Texas Tech is undefeated, the Jayhawks coming to Lubbock with a record of 4-2, 1-1 in the Big 12.
Kickoff for Texas Tech and Kansas is scheduled for 6:30pm on Saturday, October 11. The game will be on FOX.
