A man in the country illegally was recently sentenced to two decades in prison for his role in a massive methamphetamine ring.

Texas Church Parking Lot Meth Deal

Quiroz-Salto's sentence stems from an incident that occurred on December 12, 2023 when he, along with another man—Manuel Varjas Corona—were caught by police arranging a drug deal in a local church parking lot.

Cops found 20 kilograms (44 pounds) of meth on the two men, with multiple other kilograms discovered in their vehicle.

Authorities searched Quiroz-Salto's home and found an additional 93.5 kilograms (206.1 pounds) of meth, 12 firearms, a silencer, 251 rounds of ammo, and multiple parts to other firearms, the release states.

Previous Criminal History and Sentencing

Quiroz-Salto was previously removed from the country twice, once in 2007 and again in 2008 but later returned illegally. He was also convicted for trafficking cocaine in Florida back in 2011.

Prosecuting attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei stated his support for putting Quiroz-Salto behind bars:

When a defendant, like the one here, illegally enters our country three times, engages in drug trafficking despite having prior drug convictions, and illegally possesses firearms, he better believe we're going to come looking for him.

He pleaded guilty on July 11, 2024, and U.S. District Judge Alfred H. Bennett has finally ordered Eustorgio Quiroz-Salto to serve 240 months in federal prison. Once his sentence is complete, he will be removed from the United States.

The other man involved in the meth deal, Manuel Varjas Corona, also pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing at a later date. He is currently facing up to life in prison.
