The Texas Lottery’s Mega Millions jackpot is nearing record levels.

Tuesday night’s drawing is for an estimated $586 million jackpot, with a cash value of $316.5 million.

The jackpot is the second largest Mega Millions jackpot on record and the fourth largest jackpot for any U.S. lottery game.

Mega Millions is played by picking five different numbers from one to 75 and one number from one to 15. To win the jackpot, players must match all six numbers drawn, including the Mega Ball.

Players matching fewer numbers may still win a cash prize.

The drawing will be held at 10 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday.

The Texas Lottery has contributed $16 billion to the Foundation School Fund, which supports public education in Texas since 1997, and $21 billion in overall revenue for the state since 1992.
