Texas DPS Seize Over 22 Pounds of Meth in the Panhandle
A Texas DPS traffic stop in the Panhandle resulted in the seizure of more than 22 pounds of methamphetamine on Wednesday (Sept. 26).
Wednesday afternoon at around 2:30 p.m., a DPS trooper stopped a vehicle traveling east on I-40 near Conway for a traffic violation. During the stop, the trooper found two fire extinguishers containing meth in plastic bags.
The driver, 24 year-old Jesus Sanchez, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, then booked into the Carson County Jail.
The drugs were allegedly being transported from Los Angeles, California.
