The Texas Department of Public Safety have identified the victim of a deadly motorcycle crash that occurred on Tuesday, September 7th just outside the Lubbock city limits.

Texas DPS responded to the crash at approximately 2:25 p.m. at the intersection of North University Avenue and County Road 6000.

Authorities say a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 38 year-old Benjamin Adams, of Lubbock, and a 2011 Dodge Ram pickup truck towing a flatbed trailer driven by 44 year-old Wayne Wiley, of Lubbock, were both traveling northbound on FM 1264.

Adams was traveling behind the truck and its towed trailer when Wiley began to turn left onto County Road 6000. Adams attempted to pass Wiley but struck the back left quarter of the pickup truck and the front portion of the trailer, resulting in the wreck.

Adams was pronounced dead on the scene, and no other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation.
