The Texas Department of Transportation will hold a meeting to receive input on an improvement project on US Highway 82 in East Lubbock that would remove the southern frontage roads.

The improvements are planned along a more than half-mile stretch of US 82 between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Cherry Ave. to the east. Among other items, the improvement plan would remove the southern frontage roads to improve safety in the area, according to a press release from the department.

The public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the Alderson Elementary Auditorium at 219 Walnut Ave.

TxDOT is asking all concerned citizens to come and provide input on the proposed improvements.
