Tuesday on The Chad Hasty Show, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller joined Hasty in the KFYO studio to discuss the excitement surrounding President Elect Donald J. Trump's transition process and personnel choices thus far for the new administration.

Miller talked about his expectations of how much easier it will be for the agriculture communities and industries working with the Trump administration, than it has been in previous years. Anticipating the large. and hopefully positive changes changes coming in the federal government, Miller said,

We look forward to working on that with a friendly administration. Of course we have control of the Senate and the House, and the Executive Branch, and now it's our turn to govern as conservatives, and we'd better produce.

Hasty questioned Miller on his thoughts about Trump's cabinet choices so far, as well as those still under consideration and in the interviewing process. Miller replied,

"He's really surrounding himself with some great people. I certainly agree with his picks."

Among those being interviewed for positions is Kathleen Hartnett White of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, for Trump's possible Environmental Protection Agency Secretary. Miller expressed his enthusiasm for Hartnett, who is known for fighting the EPA on behalf of the agriculture, oil and gas industries in the state.

Miller also confirmed that he is still on the "short-list" for Trump's Secretary of Agriculture, which is the second largest agency in the federal government.
