Team Luke Hope for Minds is a nonprofit that was created by Tim Siegel after his son Luke suffered brain damage following an accident in a golf cart back in 2015. Now, the organization helps other to understand the many dangers that children face and raises funds for other families in need.

Team Luke's website cites the Center for Head Injury Services in saying that 1 in 500 school-age children each year receive some kind of head injury severe enough to be hospitalized, and many families are forced to pay for medical care on their own.

Tim Siegel said:

We help thousands of families every year, not just through financial support but education.

We are asking everyone to put one foot in front of the other, Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Cooper High School. Fourteen families in the last three weeks have needed our help, and I don't ever want to tell anyone no.

KAMC News reports that Team Luke has already raised over $150,000 in the past three months. If you wish to donate, visit TeamLukeHopeForMinds.org.
