Silent Wings Museum Hosts Class
The Silent Wings Museum will host a first aid class open to the public Saturday, May 17th. Those who register will learn how soldiers administered first aid in World War II and a basic knowledge of first aid.
Veterans Day
Participants of all ages will create honor badges for a veteran, design a mini-footlocker, and make a card for a serving soldier.
Museum Day
Visitors who present the official pass will gain free admission for two people to the participating museums and other cultural venues.
Honor Flight Info to be Announced Wed.
The Texas South Plains Honor Flight will fly U.S. military veterans, particularly those from World War II and Korea, to Washington, D.C. for them to see monuments to their efforts and other national venues.
D-Day Anniversary
The museum will offer opportunities to watch the documentary D-Day Remembered, and have educational activities for children, special exhibits, a WWII patch display, and a real C-47 and B-25.
Atomic Age
Some of the items include federal pamphlets, newspapers, textbooks about “duck and cover” drills, transportation infrastructure, comic books, and more.
