Lubbock Fire Rescue has announced the upcoming retirement of Matt Dawson, the firefighter who was critically injured while working the scene of a traffic accident.
Still recovering from a traumatic brain injury he received in January 2020, Lubbock firefighter Matt Dawson will receive full pay for at least another year.
On Thursday, August 13th, Lubbock Firefighter Matt Dawson, who was injured while responding to a crash back in January, will return to Lubbock from his rehabilitation at Craig Hospital in Colorado.
Lubbock Firefighter Matt Dawson, who was injured while responding to a crash on North I-27, is set to leave for Denver, Colorado to continue treatment.
