A Lubbock teenager who was fatally wounded in a weekend drive-by shooting has been identified as 16-year-old Joe Martinez. The shooting occurred in a parking lot near Club Rio at 37th and Avenue Q at 2:45 a.m. Saturday.

There had been a dispute in the club earlier. Police say 27-year-old Cristobal Torres gave a detailed confession and is now charged with murder in the case along with 24-year-old Philip Gonzales Jr. Police said two groups left the club after arguing.

According to KAMC, Torres told police that as they drove away he took a .40-caliber gun out of a glove-compartment and fired four shots at another car where Martinez was hit.
