Steve Evans and Robin Hayes Elected to SREC from Senate District 28
The marathon session of working through technology issues for the Republican Party of Texas 2020 Convention also extended into the Senate District 28 caucus. After four-plus hours of waiting, the vote for the State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) was finally held after 4am Monday morning.
Lubbock County Republican Party Chairman Steve Evans (pictured, left, with Allen West) defeated Dub Harrison by an approximate 60% to 40% margin for the SREC Senate District 28 Committeeman position.
Robin Hayes won a three-woman race for the SREC Senate District 28 Committeewoman position. Robin Hayes 124.53 - (50.01%), Neva Haney 7.21 - (2.89%), Anita Betty 117.26 - (47.09%).
The newly-elected SREC members will take office later this week, following the conclusion of the Republican Party of Texas 2020 Convention. Both Evans and Hayes will serve a two-year term on the SREC.
