Snow and Rain Showers Cover Parts of Texas, While Warm Weather Continue Further South
It's one of those weird weather moments in the Lone Star State. Portions of the state are seeing rain showers and thunderstorms, while in the very top of the panhandle, snow is falling in the morning. But the further south you drive, it doesn't feel like November at all.
Taking a look across Texas, in and around Amarillo today the high temperatures will be in the upper 40's low 50's with rain. In the extreme northern panhandle, they are seeing snow on this Thursday morning. It won't last long. Temperatures will bump into the 40's on Friday before seeing high temperatures in the 60's over the weekend. Mild temperatures and sunny skies are expected to remain for a while.
In and around Lubbock and the South Plains, it's a day of rain with high temperatures the next two days in the 50's with temperatures over the weekend in the upper 60's lower 70's. Mild temperatures and sunny skies moving forward are expected.
Meanwhile in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, rain showers are in the forecast the next two days with highs in the 70's today through the weekend and some areas could see 80 degree weather by Monday or Tuesday.
In the Austin area, rain is forecasted the next two days, but highs are in the low to mid 80's for next few days, pretty warm for November.
It could be worse for fans of fall weather and temperatures, the high in Houston on Thursday is expected to be 86 degrees.
