Smoke Visible Across Lubbock on Thursday Afternoon After Industrial Fire
Thursday afternoon, between 1pm-2pm, smoke from an industrial fire in East Lubbock was visible to most of the city.
The dark black smoke went over the neighborhoods to south- southwest of the fire due to the prevailing winds.
The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office reported that the fire broke out around 1pm in the 7500 block of Spur 331 (Southeast Drive) in East Lubbock. The Pallet Company is the business which occupies that location.
The Lubbock Fire Department, along with volunteer firefighters from Slaton, Buffalo and Woodrow responded to the blaze.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and no injuries were reported.
