The morning of Wednesday, July 1st, Six Flags Over Texas announced that it would be pulling all social media advertising.

In a statement on Twitter, Six Flags says that they strive to be thoughtful and considerate of where they place their advertising dollars to ensure they invest in platforms devoid of hate speech and harmful content.

KAMC News reports that Six Flags will be reassessing internal policies and re-evaluating external partners during this social media break.

This all comes after a growing movement of large companies not advertising on Facebook for the month of July to pressure it to better handle the spread of hate speech.
