Science Spectrum’s Omnitheater, Kids Camps & Memberships
Tuesday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin, James Nesmith the Administrative Manager of the Science Spectrum joined Dave and Matt to talk about the Science Spectrum's Omnitheater movies, the different kinds of memberships you can get, the camps that they offer for kids, and more.
Nesmith explained that the Science Spectrum is back open, barring a few features today due to the extreme weather, and so now is a great time to get a membership. The Science Spectrum has different kinds of memberships that offer different perks. One membership gives you unlimited standard museum admission for a year, as well as a discount for things like the theater, the giftshop, camps, and parties. They also have a membership that offers unlimited movies, allowing you to see a movie every day, and even gives you guest privileges so you could bring someone with you.
When talking about those movies, Nesmith promoted the Science Spectrum's Omnitheater, their large curved screen that gives you the effect that you're flying through the movie. The Omnitheater currently has 2 movies playing, including "Into America's Wild", which James says is a great movie if you've been cooped up in the house for a while, and they have a 3rd movie coming soon. The theater also requires social distancing so you can feel safely spread out while watching.
The Science Spectrum always has lots of fun camps for kids aging from 4-13 years old. The camps have fun science experiment activities based on chemistry, space, a pirate camp for younger kids, animals, and even their "Fab Lab" technology camp that shows off things such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and robotics.
