Monday on Lubbock's First News with Tom Collins and Laura Mac, Representative Randy Neugebauer joined the show from Washington, D.C. to talk about currents events.

Among the subjects discussed were the most recent Republican presidential debate, work on the Transportation bill currently in progress, the new Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, and the new budget's federal crop insurance provisions.

About the last debate, which was hosted by CNBC, Neugebauer said: "This was supposed to be a debate where these candidates laid out their visions for growing the economy."

Neugebauer added: "I thought that CNBC started the whole process off trying to start a barroom brawl. And so I think the big loser there is, the American people didn't get to hear as much about these candidates vision to grow the economy."
