Friday on The Chad Hasty Show, District 19 Representative Jodey Arrington joined Chad in the KFYO studio to discuss the latest events and news from the nation's capitol.

Arrington and Hasty discussed many topics including the excitement surrounding President Trump, tax cuts, and other accomplishments of his administration in it's first year, the growing scandal regarding alleged surveillance and resource abuses in attempts to influence the presidential election, agriculture, the "cotton safety net" and trade issues, immigration, term limits, the upcoming State of the Union Address, and other topics.

Hasty and Arrington discussed the brewing scandals alleging massive government surveillance and resource abuses attempting to influence the outcome of the general election which resulted in President Trump's election to the White House. Hasty asked Arrington if he had seen the memo obtained by House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes, which has ignited yet another a frenzy in the press and political circles. During his response Arrington said,

I have seen it. I signed a non-disclosure agreement like every other member. I'm grateful that they opened it up for all the members of Congress, and I gotta tell you it was very disturbing. I can't comment on the contents of the memo, but I can tell you that, my response [was]...the American people have to see this. They have to see it, and it is deeply disturbing.

Regarding Democrat accusations that the Nunes 'memo' furor is merely a partisan attack, Arrington said,

As an American, if you read that, you just, your stomach turns and your skin crawls. I mean, I don't think this is hype here. I wish I could divulge more, but the people will get this soon enough.

While talking about the "cotton safety net" Arrington said,

The language is strong, it gives that coverage, market risk insurance to cotton as a seed and a lint, it's budget neutral, and it would apply to this season. It doesn't get any better than that.
