Monday on Lubbock's First News, Congressman Randy Neugebauer talked about the omnibus spending bill that passed in Congress Thursday, as well as Farm Bill progress and national defense.

The spendingbill set the spending amount at $1 trillion, funding the government until September. Neugebauer said the vote took the appropriation bills and "lumped them all into one bill", which he did not support. He believes a proper progress cannot be made when things are lumped together. Neugebauer also noted discretionary spending as increased, increasing the national deficit, which he also opposes.

Neugebauer discussed the progress made toward forming a farm bill. He suggested there would be a teleconference that would provide an update and to set a time to bring the bill to the floor.
