Plainview ISD and New Deal ISD have announced that classes will be cancelled on Friday, March 13th, 2020.
KAMC News reports that this is being done as a preventative measure against COVID-19 and will allow the districts to intensify deep cleaning efforts.
Lubbock, Lubbock-Cooper and Frenship ISDs, however, will be continuing as normal.
The Lubbock County districts are closely monitoring the situation and tracking information provided by local, state and national healthcare providers.
Classes for all South Plains School Districts are scheduled to resume on March 23rd after spring break.
