The driver of a Ford pickup truck was killed Saturday afternoon in a one-vehicle accident in Hockley County. KAMC News reports the accident occurred around 5pm on FM 1585 near Quail Road.

According to Texas DPS, the driver of the 2006 Ford pickup, 34 year-old Todd A. James, of Lubbock, lost control of his vehicle and drifted off the road. He then overcorrected before veering across both lanes of traffic

James was killed at the scene of the accident and he was not wearing a seat belt.

There was also a two-year old girl in the truck. She was securely fasten in a child safety seat and she survived the accident. The two year-old was taken to Covenant Children's emergency room with non-incapacitating injuries.

The identity of the two-year has not been released, and the accident remains under investigation.
