On Thursday's edition of Lubbock's First News, officer Brooks Jennings came on the show to talk about Alexa's 3rd Annual Teddy Bear Drive.

The teddy bear drive is named after Jennings' 3-year-old daughter Alexa, who suffers from Opsoclonus-Myoclonus Symdrome (OMS), a very rare condition that affect the eyes and muscle movements of the body. Jennings said that his father-in-law got the idea after spending time in the hospital with Alexa and seeing how many children received teddy bears. Last year, the drive raised nearly $4000 for OMS research, and 1,000 teddy bears were given away.

If you would like to donate teddy bears for the drive, you can drop them off at either Wild West Harley Davidson at 5702 58th St, or at Custom Electronics at 5005 34th St. If you would like to donate money or get more information about OMS, visit omsusa.org.
