UPDATE: Woman Dies in Hospital After Motorcycle Crash
Update: According to Lubbock Police Department Public Information Officer, Tracie Scofield passed away in the hospital Friday, Dec. 15.
Original story: A woman is in critical condition Thursday (Dec. 14) after the motorcycle she was on crashed.
Lubbock police and EMS responded to the accident at around midnight on the West Loop 289 access road near 41st street. Forty-three-year-old Tracie Scofield was found lying in the road with life-threatening injuries and taken to UMC for treatment.
KAMC News reports that Scofield was riding on a motorcycle driven by 38-year-old Jody Jones, traveling northbound in the right lane of the access road. Jones allegedly struck a concrete median and Scofield was thrown from the motorcycle.
Jones was arrested at the scene for intoxication assault.
