Mother Asks 911 Operator If It’s OK To Shoot Intruder
Here we have another example of the Castle Doctrine in action, and how it can protect the lives of innocent homeowners.
In Oklahoma, a young mother shot down an intruder after asking an 9-1-1 operator if it was OK for her to shoot him. 2 men had attempted to break into the house where she and her 3-month-old son were living. After the dispatcher told her to "do what you have to do" to protect herself and her baby, she killed one of the intruders with a 12 gauge shotgun. The other intruder fled the scene, and is now being held on murder charges for the death of his partner.
Because she acted in self-defense, the young mother will not face any charges. On top of all of that, this mother was recently widowed; her husband had died of cancer on Christmas Day. It just goes to show you, nothing in this world is more dangerous than a mother trying to protect her child.
