A military veteran’s missing commemorative Colt .45 of over 10 years will be returned to him.

Approximately nine months ago the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office received word from the Starr County HIDTA task force of a gun recovered in a drug raid.The gun was recovered along with several other weapons from a drug house located near the Texas-Mexico border.

The commemorative Colt .45, which was found in Rio Grande City, matched a gun that was reported stolen in October of 1992. The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office was notified of the recovery in 2013.

The gun has been transferred to the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office and they will return the gun to the original owner tomorrow.
