Midland Hit-and-Run Suspect Arrested in El Paso County

A deadly car accident in Midland had one man on the run this week.

KAMC News reports the accident involving multiple vehicles took place on Tuesday (July 10) on Interstate 20.

A prior accident had caused traffic to back up on I-20. That’s when 48-year-old Jose Baldassari drove his tractor-trailer into the back of a pickup truck, which caused a deadly five-vehicle chain reaction. 27-year-old Ricardo Silva-Martinez and 43-year-old Bladimir Rodriquez were both killed.

Baldassari fled the scene but was found Thursday morning (July 12) walking on I-20 in El Paso County. He now faces two counts of manslaughter.
