Micro-Surfacing of Lubbock Thoroughfares Could Cause Delays

Some major thoroughfares will be micro-surfaced soon, causing some traffic delays.

Beginning Sunday evening, Slurry Seal Inc. will begin applying micro-surfacing on some Lubbock streets.

82^nd Street from Slide Road to Frankford Avenue, Slide Road from 50^th Street to South Loop 289, Quaker Avenue from 4^th Street to 19^th Street, and Indiana Avenue from 19^th Street to 34^th Street will be micro-surfaced at different times during the work.

The work will take place between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., but construction activity at different times could result in lane closures even when workers are not present.

The work is expected to take around two weeks to complete.
