Art and history lovers be prepared to see an exhibit that has traveled around the world from Chicago to El Paso to Shanghai. Michelangelo's Sistene Chapel: The Exhibition opens in Amarillo on Friday and runs through the end of July. This will be the first exhibit in the newly renovated Sunset Center.

Tickets are on sale now at artsinthesunset.org. Ticket prices range from $19 to $26.

So what is this exhibit? According to a press release the exhibit is a collection of reproduced frescoes from the Vatican's Sistine Chapel. Those who attend will get an up-close and personal view of these reproduced masterpieces.

Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition is a collection of the artist’s renowned ceiling frescoesfromtheVatican’sSistineChapel,reproducedinaformatallowingviewerstobe face-to-face with the masterpieces. Through artfully displayed reproductions, this innovative presentation brings the audience just a few feet away from world-renowned pieces like The Creation of Adam and The Last Judgment.

The exhibit will be open Tuesday through Saturday 11:00 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Sunday's 1 p.m. Viewing times will be an hour to an hour and a half depending on which ticket you bought.
