McDonald’s Is Celebrating 50 Years of the Big Mac With Coins & Free Big Macs

Can you believe the Big Mac has been around for 50 years? I can't believe it either, but I've eaten enough of them over the years that it could be 50 years' worth!

And to celebrate, McDonald's is creating a global currency known as the, of course, MacCoin.

You might be thinking, what's the big deal with the MacCoin? Well, it's good for a free Big Mac anywhere in the world!

So you go on vacation to England, France, or Houston, and you can get a free Big Mac with one of these coins.

The promotion starts August 2nd, 2018, and you will get a MacCoin with every Big Mac purchase. I have been able to confirm that all Lubbock-area McDonald's locations will be participating in the promotion.

Who knows how long they will be good for, but I should save mine for a future vacation.
