On Wednesday, September 10, Alamo Drafthouse hosted a quote-along event for the late Harold Ramis’1980 classic, Caddyshack. Alamo is known for their strict no talking policy, but the quote-along is actually designed to be an interactive event with props relating to the movie. Specifically at Caddyshack attendees were given beach balls designed to look like golf balls to throw whenever a ball was hit in the movie as well as a Baby Ruth candy bar to eat during the infamous pool scene.

Before the screening, Alamo Drafthouse employees introduced a special public service announcement with Mayor Robertson in which the mayor threatened to put any movie talkers on ‘poop duty’ in Lubbock’s Prairie-Dog Town.

The PSA made light of the position by starting with a close up of the mayor and then showing a wider shot of his ‘office’ which is a haphazard warehouse setting with a desk surrounded by boxes and recycling. The PSA fell directly in line with others like the one calling out Texas Attorney General Greg Abbot for putting out an ad for his text messaging campaign in a movie theatre.

The Lubbock Alamo Drafthouse was announced in April 2013 and was opened with franchise partner Triple Ventures LLC.
