Monday on The Chad Hasty Show, Washington Times columnist and political analyst Matt Mackowiak joined the show to talk about the bumpy transition into the White House that the Trump team is experiencing.

Mackowiak and Hasty discussed the stormy conflicts between the media and the administration, Trump's interview with Fox News' Bill O'Reilly, and much more. While speaking about Trump's controversial statement in that interview, apparently comparing the U.S. with Russian President Putin, Mackowiak said, "I think a lot of times we overstate what Trump said, and what it means. He is very imprecise with his language."

Mackowiak continued, saying,

I think he is probably trying to create better relations with Russia, and he doesn't want to take sort of gratuitous shots at Putin, he doesn't think it's in the United States' interest, and he doesn't think that's how you begin to build relations with other world leaders.

Mackowiak also talked about President Trump's nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court, and the political fight to get him confirmed in a timely fashion.
