Today on Lubbock's First News, Mike Webb talked with Tom and Laura about "Casas for CASA," a charity for Court Appointed Special Advocates.

Casas for CASA is an annual charity that involves the building of playhouses of small dimensions being raffled off. This year, KFYO, Lowes, Home Design, and Stone Ridge Group are coming together to create an especially unique playhouse. Webb consulted a chief architect from Home Design and stated "what we wanted to do was not just build a play house but we wanted to kind of showcase our craft. We wanted to put a lot of design and detail into it and incorporate everyone that is involved in the building process. So what we wanted to do was take something thats pretty big, like building a custom home or doing a remodeling project, and put the same amount of energy into a small home, a little playhouse/doghouse. Our hope was to create some interest and show that there is a lot of design elements that can go into this project and maybe create some interest in children and whatnot. Some kids that would come through and say 'hey, this is something I may want to do as a career.'"

Mike Webb along with Stone Ridge Group will be constructing two buildings. Watch Stone Ridge Groups Facebook page to see progress on the two buildings and be sure and check out the fund raiser this July.
