Lubbock Woman Accused of Setting Bar on Fire After Being Banned From The Bar
A Lubbock woman was arrested on Friday, November 8 and has been charged with Arson and Criminal Mischief. She was able to post bond on the following Monday.
28 year-old Sarah Saenz has been accused of starting a fire at a local bar. According to KAMC, video shows Saenz walking into the bathroom then shows back up in the hallway while an orange "flash" was seen in the bathroom hallway. She was caught on camera walking away quickly then sitting at a table alone before leaving.
KAMC reported that Saenz had been banned previously from the bar after showing up intoxicated then getting "verbally abusive" after being refused service. She had reportedly gone back a second time and was verbally abusive towards the staff for being banned from the bar.
According to the report, toilet paper was used to ignite the fire at the bar.
Court records said the toilet paper dispenser in the bathroom “exhibited mass loss.” It appeared that toilet paper was used to ignite the fire, according to court documents. The bathroom’s sink drain was stuffed with paper and was “filled with water.”
No word on how much, if any, damage was done to the bar.
