An annual program aimed at keeping crime down during the holidays begins next week.

Beginning Monday, December 2nd, the Lubbock Sheriff’s Office will begin their annual “Operation St. Nick,” which is designed to curb the increase in property crimes spurred by the upcoming holiday season by the implementation of added patrols in the rural areas.

During Operation St. Nick, citizens are encouraged to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity in the rural areas of Lubbock County.

If you see suspicious activity in and around residences, neighborhoods, or places of business outside city limits, contact the Sheriff’s Office 24-hour non-emergency phone line at 775-1480.

In the event of an actual emergency, call 9-1-1.

Operation St. Nick runs through December 31st.
