Lubbock ISD, Frenship ISD, and Lubbock-Cooper ISD have each announced their own programs for providing meals to students despite state-mandated school closures.

Lubbock ISD: Beginning Monday, Mar. 23, 2020, Lubbock ISD announced curbside meal pickup for their students would be available at 16 different campuses. Each weekday from 12 p.m. to 1:30 .pm., LISD families can visit one of the listed campuses and receive a free lunch and next-day’s breakfast:

  • Coronado High School
  • Lubbock High School
  • Monterey High School
  • Atkins Middle School
  • Cavazos Middle School
  • O.L. Slaton Middle School
  • Mackenzie Middle School
  • Alderson Elementary School
  • Brown Elementary School
  • Centennial Elementary School
  • Ervin Elementary School
  • Harwell Elementary School
  • Hodges Elementary School
  • Roberts Elementary School
  • Waters Elementary School
  • Wester Elementary School

LISD is also offering free meals through school bus distribution, in which district buses will take their normal routes each day starting at noon. Instead of picking kids up for school, the buses will be able to distribute free meals to students in their own neighborhoods.


 

Frenship ISD also started their curbside meal pickup program on Monday, Mar. 23, 2020. Meal pickup for lunch and next day's breakfast will be available weekdays at 6 different campus locations from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.:

  • Frenship Ninth Grade Center – 407 North Dowden Road, Wolfforth, TX
  • Legacy Elementary – 6424 Kemper Avenue
  • North Ridge Elementary – 6302 11th Place
  • Terra Vista Middle School – 1111 Upland Avenue
  • Westwind Elementary – 6401 43rd Street
  • Willow Bend Elementary – 8816 13th Street

Lubbock-Cooper ISD will begin offering free student meals beginning Wednesday, Mar. 25, at 9 different campuses. Food will be provided via curbside pick-up on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

  • Lubbock-Cooper High School - 910 Woodrow Road
  • New Hope Academy - 3425 118th Street (pick-up at LBMS)
  • Laura Bush Middle School - 3425 118th Street
  • Lubbock-Cooper Middle School - 16410 Loop 493 (pick-up at South Elem)
  • Central Elementary - 4020 135th Street
  • East Elementary - 2727 134th Street
  • North Elementary - 3202 108th Street
  • South Elementary - 16410 Loop 493
  • West Elementary - 10101 Fulton Avenue

Students will be able to pick up four meals at a time; breakfast and lunch for two days. For a family with multiple students that attend different LCISD campuses, they can pick up all of their meals at East Elementary or they must visit each student’s respective campus.
